    Description

This 3" x 3" portable, precision 10V Voltage Reference can be used to check the calibration of your DVM or DMM. After assembly, each device is powered on for a minimum of 1600 hours and at the time of shipment is adjusted to within 5uV of 10.000000V using our calibrated 3458A DMM.  Accuracy is conservatively guaranteed to be within 0.002% after 8 months.  An Analog Devices buried Zener LT1021BCN8-10 is the heart of the Reference and we apply a conformal coating to minimize the effects of ambient humidity.  A calibration certificate is included.
The Reference can either be powered by the included RayOVac Alkaline 9V batteries that are housed inside the enclosure or by the included UL approved, linear, regulated 24VDC wall mounted power supply.  Buried Zener references become more stable the longer they are powered-up.  With the included 24V power supply it is very convenient to leave the Reference continuously powered without having to use a much more costly bench supply.  A lit low current red LED indicates battery operation and an orange LED indicates external power.  By unplugging the 24VDC supply, internal circuitry switches the Reference to battery operation with no interruption of power.  Both the battery and external power inputs are reverse polarity protected and can withstand up to +/-40V without damage.  Please see the listing photos for examples.
Temperature compensation keeps the temperature coefficient to less than +/- 1ppm/C over the range of 60
    º
    F to 90
    º
    F (16
    º
C to 32C).  The temperature stability is verified by our thermal chamber slowly changing the temperature from 60
    º
    F to 90
    º
F over a period of 8 hours and measuring the Reference output every 0.1
ºF.  This is necessary since some LT1021 devices have a very non-linear temperature coefficient and if only three temperature checks are made it is very easy to miss an unwanted voltage excursion.
Recalibration is free for the first two years; send it to us (without the external supply) along with .50 for return shipping via USPS Priority to destinations within the USA
